Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document the art that is created in my beautifully messy New York City art room. Hope you have a nice stay!

First, I want to say thank you to Cassie Stephens who came up with this project idea.  I saw these over on her blog and just knew I had to do them with my kids.  We already had the black glue made up from our stained glass projects and we watched Cassie's video to do the guided drawing.  I love guided drawings, especially with the younger grades, because despite the fact that you are all drawing the same thing they each come out so differently! These were no exception.  After outlining in black glue (which kids go weirdly crazy for), we went over analogous colors and chalk tips and technique.  This project just happened to coincide with our school's 'Learn Alongside your Child' in ART' dates, so we had many parents come in to the art room for this part of the project.  Many parents came up to me afterward and were impressed that they had really learned something about color theory :) and they all loved how unique these all came out. This project is really a showstopper :) Thanks Cassie!
